/// A SERIES

Throughout the world, more people rely on our A Series than all other buoys The A Series is the product that launched the Polyform story. This all-purpose product, with the signature “blue ropehold,” has proven itself in the most adverse conditions. We’ve made a couple of changes to the legendary A-Series for 2001. There’s a new size – the A-7, with more buoyancy than any other buoy in its class, and a redesigned ropehold. The new ropehold has been incorporated into the A-5, A-6, and A-7 and features stronger ribs, a larger eye that accepts a standard shackle, and a new “dual valve” inflation-deflation system. Marking gear in heavy seas is no easy task. That’s why more fishermen use Polyform A Series than all other buoys combined. We’ve seen and heard the testimonials from our customers. You name the ocean, sea, or river, and the A Series has been there. Put your trust in Polyform’s most versatile and well-known product.

/// S SERIES

Polyform’s S Series, an excellent choice for multi-purpose applications The S Series is an excellent choice for multipurpose applications. The compact size makes it perfect for small boats or jet ski fender and mooring applications where you don’t have a lot of storage room. When you’re not using it for a fender it makes a great buoy for course marking as well as small pot and trap fishing – much more distinctive and durable than the “bleach bottle.” The elongated shape allows this buoy to sit higher in the water than a round buoy, making it more visible. To satisfy your small fender and buoy needs, choose the S-1.

/// LD SERIES

A Polyform innovation – its patented shape helps make a tough job a little faster, easier, and safer In 1989, we introduced the patented LD (low drag) Buoy. Retrieving a 700-lb. crab pot in 30-ft. seas is the most dangerous job in the world. We tried to make this job a little safer by creating a buoy with less surface drag for faster, safer pick ups as well as easing strain on both crew and gear. Like all good products, it didn’t take long before other fishermen saw the value of the LD. Polyform’s LD Series is the undisputed world leader in low drag buoys, outselling all others combined.

/// CM SERIES

CM Series: A mooring buoy doesn’t have to be hard to be durable The CM has been designed to provide the ultimate in strength, durability and versatility, providing increased security to any mooring. The mooring iron is made from 1/2-inch galvanized steel with the additional protection of a vinyl coated eye. A larger eye (4-3/8 » diameter) and swivel (1-1/2 » diameter along) provides maximum strength. And best of all the CM’s soft vinyl surface won’t harm boat finishes. Available in fluorescent red and white with a blue stripe. MOORING TIPS When picking up a mooring, always use the top ring to pick up the buoy with a boathook. Then shackle the mooring pennant to the mooring chain shackle, rather than to the buoy itself. This puts all the strain on the anchor chain, rather than the buoy. WHAT SIZE BUOY? To figure out what size buoy you will need, determine the weight of the chain it must support. All chain has a stated weight per foot. Add another 25% to the total weight for safety. Always use chafing gear where mooring lines run through bow chocks or are likely to contact deck hardware. A thimble on the shackled end will prevent chafe at the buoy. SAFETY In a hard blow, the holding power of the mooring can be increased by lengthening the mooring pennant. This increases the scope of the mooring providing greater holding power –just be sure to check other boats in the moorage first to ensure you won’t foul another moored boat. In adverse conditions, a second mooring pennant can be run to the top eye as a safety in case the primary pennant chafes through or fails. All shackles should be moused to prevent opening. Electricians plastic tie wraps are an excellent means of securing a shackle.

/// DOCK MOLDINGS PG SERIES

Polyguard dock moldings protect your investment when things don’t go as planned Now even your dock can have the same legendary protection that your boat enjoys with the Polyguard Series of molded corners, straights and extrusions. Introduced in 1994, these products have become very popular sellers throughout the world. As with our buoys and fenders, we added the little things to this product that help distinguish them from the competition. For instance, we incorporated reinforcement ribs in the PG-1, 2, & 3 to provide added protection to both your boat and dock. They are easy to mount and are built to withstand the harsh marine environment using the correct additives to keep them soft and resistant to UV breakdown for years. The result is a product you can depend on when things don’t go as planned.

/// CC SERIES

CC Series: A versatile buoy – reliable performance Polyform’s CC Series buoys have the same legendary history as our A Series buoys. Developed shortly after the A Series , the CC has been proven to be a valuable commercial buoy for over 40 years. Because of the flexible center tube, you will see the CC buoy used in a variety of applications. They are used by longliners, fish farmers to add buoyancy to their pens, and more recently by geophysical researchers to tow sonic cannons in search of gas and oil. People who use Polyform’s CC buoys, can count on reliable performance, even in the most extreme conditions. CC SERIES MOORING SYSTEM When using the CC series as a mooring ball, please follow these simple instructions to achieve the maximum use and durability of this product: 1) The CC series has a flexible center tube. If you use a chain, you must first insert a rigid PVC pipe. (See chart) DO NOT inflate the buoy until you have inserted the pipe. 2) Lubricate with oil both the tube and the pipe prior to inserting. Make the length of the pipe so that you have 3 inches extending beyond the top and bottom of the buoy. 3) Run a suitable size pin for your load through the top of the pipe and attach the shackle to the chain at the bottom of the buoy.
